Congratulations Prince “Chestnut”!

Longtime ALA member and recently elected Alabama State Representative, Prince “Chestnut, was recently awarded the Gaudium et Spes Award during the 80th Anniversary Celebration of the Edmundite Missions where he also gave the keynote speech to a large crowd of local and international persons in attendance at the Convention Center in Selma, Alabama.  The Gaudium et Spes Award was also given to Coach A.A. Sewell (posthumously) and Nancy Sewell, the parents of Congresswoman Terri Sewell.  Gaudium et Spes (Joy and Hope) Awards are awarded annually to those who have in word and in deed helped advance and support the work of the Edmundite Missions through their lives of faithful service to those in need.

In his speech, Chestnut recognized the significant contributions of the Edmundite Missions in the area of Civil Rights, education, health care and addressing the needs of the poor.”
